Reimagining a Clemson Tradition Through Story

Legacy + Experience Storytelling

The Story

Every Clemson athlete has a story.

Beyond the championships, records, statistics, and unforgettable moments are the relationships, sacrifices, and experiences that shaped their journey.

The IPTAY Hall of Fame exists to honor those stories and celebrate the individuals who have left a lasting impact on Clemson Athletics.

In 2024, Clemson Athletics invited Rettew Creative to help rethink the Hall of Fame experience. The opportunity was bigger than creating videos. It was about redesigning the way these stories were shared, creating an event experience that honored each inductee while keeping families, friends, former teammates, and fans engaged throughout the celebration.

The Challenge

Honoring a Lifetime While Creating an Engaging Experience

A Hall of Fame celebration carries a unique storytelling challenge.

How do you recognize decades of accomplishments, memories, and impact while creating an experience that keeps the audience connected?

Previous celebrations followed a traditional banquet format with a longer program, extended videos, and formal presentations. While meaningful, the experience created an opportunity to rethink the rhythm, pacing, and audience engagement.

The goal became simple:

Create a high-energy celebration where every inductee felt valued, every story mattered, and every moment moved with purpose.

The Approach

Transforming a Ceremony Into a Story Experience

Inspired by the pacing and structure of live sports productions, Rettew Creative helped redesign the Hall of Fame format around movement, emotion, and storytelling.

Each inductee experience was carefully crafted:

  • Introduce and celebrate the honoree

  • Bring them on stage for a live conversation

  • Share meaningful messages from coaches, teammates, family, and friends

  • Create a defining Hall of Fame moment

  • Capture photographs and memories

  • Transition seamlessly into the next story

The redesigned format created a two-hour experience where each inductee received intentional time in the spotlight while maintaining energy throughout the evening.

Behind the scenes, production planning became essential.

From show flow and timing to graphics, video elements, stage coordination, and communication with hosts through IFB, every detail was designed to support the storytelling experience.

The Final Story

Every Legacy Deserves the Same Spotlight

One of the most important goals was creating equity across every story.

Whether celebrating a nationally recognized athlete or honoring someone from an Olympic sport whose achievements happened decades earlier, every inductee deserved the same level of attention, care, and celebration.

The event was intentionally structured so every Clemson legend had their moment.

Different sports. Different eras. Different journeys.

One shared legacy.
